A teacher stands beside the flames with staff in hand, addressing the crowd as men and women bring objects associated with former practices to be destroyed. The towering columns behind them evoke the religious world of ancient Ephesus, where the gospel confronted superstition, idolatry, and occult commerce.

The scene reflects Acts 19, when many who believed openly confessed their deeds and burned their costly books of magic. Their repentance is shown not as a private feeling but as a visible turning from darkness to the living God. The fire becomes a sign of discipleship: the word of the Lord prevails as believers renounce what once enslaved them.
