Leírás
Jesus Christ hangs on the center cross at Golgotha, with the two condemned criminals crucified on either side. In the foreground, a Roman centurion stands in armor, his face turned toward the crucified Lord as the sky darkens behind the hill. The composition focuses on the soldier’s witness at the moment of Christ’s death, when the executioner becomes a testimony-bearer before the cross. The sign above Jesus and the three raised crosses identify the scene as the Passion at Calvary. In the Gospel accounts, the centurion sees what has taken place and confesses the truth of Jesus’ innocence and divine identity. The image carries the weight of sacrifice, judgment, forgiveness, and revelation, making it suited for Holy Week, Good Friday, Easter teaching, sermons on the atonement, and studies of Luke 23, Matthew 27, and Mark 15.
